Updates

Whenever I open up my Desktop PowerBI, it instructs me to install updates.  I am not allowed to this without the IT department.  I have put in a ticket to the IT department and they tried today to install the updates and it instructs us to do a complete download of the software again.  Is there something that we are doing wrong?  How do we just install the updates that are needed?

Hi @keck2barrick,

When a new desktop version is available, you need to download that complete installer file for the new desktop then install it. The new version will overwrite the old one. Which you did is right.

Just to clarify that when a new version is available part of the install is that it does not do an in-place update, but effectively does an uninstall and re-install.
