When I'm trying to export data for ppt storytelling , it works the first time I paste the URL to powerpoint. However after saving and closing once I re-opened I got an error that , the error is Cannot run PowerBI and I need to use modern browser, however I'm using the updated edge and webview2 installed in my laptop. OS is running windows 10 Enterprise as well as the Office 365 version. I also added the registry key since I have semi-annual channel on my O365 apps.
I noticed that when I saved the file to downloads folder (since it's not syncing with Onedrive), the add-in works. But when I transfer the file to any OneDrive folder (documents, pictures folder) it will start giving me an error. I want to share my PPT presentation to my colleagues that's why I need it to work. Thank you.
Hi @Lev1 ,
Whether your problem still persist on? If no, you can refer the following official documentation to make troubleshooting:
I installed WebView2, but the Power BI storytelling add-in still doesn't run
If WebView2 is installed but you still can't use the add-in, it may be because the Office build and/or Windows edition on your device don't meet minimum requirements. The minimum system requirements are as follows:
- Office version
- If you have a Microsoft 365 Office subscription: Build number 16.0.13530.20424 or later.
- If you have a non-subscription version of Office: Office 2021 or later.
- Windows version
- If you have a Microsoft 365 Office subscription: Windows 8.1, Windows 10, or Windows 11.
- If you have a non-subscription version of Office: Windows 10 and above.
If your system doesn't meet the above requirements, you need to upgrade your Windows and/or Office versions before you'll be able to run the Storytelling add-in.
Best Regards
Hi, unfortunately yes, the issue still persist on, now it is experienced by 2 of our users. I posted same issue with images in other categories. I actually followed all the T/s in that article but still same. Although, the add-in is working if the file is outside the OneDrive/Sharepoint folder and the file ownership is set to personal. But for files inside the OneDrive synced folders, the issue persisted.
Here is my other post with images, https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/Cannot-run-PBI-Powerpoint-add-in-when-the-file-is-...
Thank you.
