Unable to connect to a shared document despite having permission

Hello,

Can someone help me with this?  I tried to open PowerBi Desktop-a shared report and it shows this. I am not sure why i see this as I can publish easily, and I am the 2nd admin.

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Gabriela

Instead of File Explorer, access the shared folder by Command Prompt using the below command:

Turn on the SMB 1.0 support feature from Control Panel by following these steps:

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Select Programs > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support.
  • Check SMB 1.0/CIFS Client, and then press Enter.

Turn on network discovery and file and printer sharing options by following these steps:

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Select Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Advanced sharing settings.
  • Select Turn on network discovery.
  • Select Turn on file and printer sharing under Private.
  • Select Save changes.

Set the startup type of specified services to Automatic to make the computer visible on the network. Here's how to proceed:

  • Go to Start.
  • Go to Search, enter the word Services, and press Enter.
  • Change the Startup type property to Automatic for the following services.
  • Function Discovery Provider Host
  • Function Discovery Resource Publication
  • SSDP Discovery
  • UPnP Device Host
  • Restart the system.

We could check those limiations.

  • Only users with Build permission for a dataset can connect to a published dataset using the Power BI service live connection

Build permission for shared datasets

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-report-lifecycle-datasets

and if you connect another datasets from your workspace. it's okey?

Yes, I am logged in and I do have access to the report as I can access it from the website version.
