What is the source you are connecting to? Maybe it has to do with this

Hi  @TCunningham ,

Based on my test,if you have already loaded the data source,you cant directly add a query in current data source setting,as shown below:

You'd better go to query editor,right click on the source settings on the right pane,then add the query inside :

Finally you will see that the sql statement can be edited now.

Hi @themistoklis

I'm connecting via ODBC to DVT (Cisco Info Server)

@TCunningham

If im not wrong this is a TIBCO isnt it?

Can you not use the native connector?

TIBCO.JPG

@themistoklis  My mistake; that is my connection.

@TCunningham

So have you tried the TIBCO connector with no luck?

@themistoklis  I have two queries using the TIBCO connection and I am able to refresh them with no issue. I need to make a small edit to one of them but the sql box is grayed out.

@TCunningham

Have you tried going to Power Query Editor --> Select the Table you want --> Go to Source (first step) --> Right Click (Edit Settings)

There you will be able to see the query

I don't see an option for Power Query as I would in Excel

Sorry, I've been staring at this too long. I actually am using the ODBC connector as opposed to TIBCO. TIBCO doesn't allow me to paste my entire sql script. Seems to only allow a select *
