URL on Matrix Rows

I'm trying to build a URL on MATRIX rows. In my Data tab, I've selected my URL column and changed Data Category to Web URL. As per my reading, this should change the URL to a hyperlink, which it isnt.

DataURL
ABChttp://www.google.com
DEFhttp://www.gmail.com

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on my test ,  it is unsupported to use a URL field to format another field which is put into Rows box of Matrix visual as the hyperlink in a matrix in Power BI currently. While your demand is a good idea, you can post your new idea in Idea Forum , add your comments there to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

As a workaround,  you may format another field as the hyperlink in a Table visual. Firstly, select on the column [URL], go to Modeling ->Data category ->Uncategorized. Secondly, set conditional formatting for the [Data] like below.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on my test using your original data in the latest version of Power BI Desktop,  I select on the [URL] column, then change the Data category to Web URL, put this [URL] column into Rows box of Matrix visual, the URL is displayed as hyperlink well.

In addition, from the Microsoft official document Add hyperlinks (URLs) to a table or matrix, the feature Format a URL as a hyperlink is OK. If a field with a hyperlink doesn't already exist in your dataset, use Power BI Desktop to add it as a custom column. Again, you can't create a column in DirectQuery mode. But if your data already contains URLs, you can turn them into hyperlinks.

I need ABC and XYZ to be hyperlinks to their respective URL's. And columns ABC and XYZ are the rows with hyperlink in the report and URL's should not be displayed.

LEt me know if you need more screenshot.
