Transpose Rows and Columns in Matrix

Hello Fellow Powerbi'ers,

I would very much like to transpose a matrix.  I doubt that's everybody's dream but it somehow doesn't seem crazy hard as an idea.  I looked in the ideas board and couldn't find references to the idea.  Anyone know if it's on there and I didn't see it or if it's already been declined?

Anyone else think it's useful?  Or better--anyone have a workaround?

I was able to transpose data in a Matrix visualization by using the formatting options in the specific visualizations.  Select Values>Show on Rows (slider)>ON.

In what context would you like to do the transpose? If we're discussing a Table, there's an M function for it (Table.Transpose).

If you want to do it in a matrix visual, I've got nothing, but I'd be interested to see what matrix visual you built with enough dimensions to make that a useful feature.

@jahida  Great answer jahida...As I was thinking through how to answer your question I untangled the problem.  First, it's a visual I was struggling with.  And several columns I was using were percentile metrics computed from a selection of "provider" records.  This selection is not the same as the selection of providers I was looking to use as columns--so I was struggling to parse the values from that slicer to use as columns.  Anyway, without getting too tangled up in describing the jumble I was in, your question had me just put the providers as columns...and that works great.

@prady2581 You can't transpose a matrix in a visual.  You'll need to find another way.  Tom
