Hello. I recently had an issue with a visual that I can't understand. In the visual below, there is a map and a column chart with the same tooltip [Vendas] on each of them:
The column chart shows the productivity of each year and the map shows the plots [Talhões] and the total productivity of each one. Both have the same tooltip [Vendas] that shows the most productive variety. The problem occurs when I try to filter the chart results by a plot on the map. Productivity results change, but tooltip values remain the same.
I would like to know why this is happening. It is worth mentioning that all the columns in this visual belong to the same table.
A curious thing is that the tooltip results change when I use data segmentation to select the same plot (and they are correct).

Hi, @jobf
Your observation is very detailed.
This is mainly because map visuals do not have a highlight filter option. This can be clearly seen in the interactive editing of the visual, as shown in the image below:
Therefore, maps can be highlighted by other visuals, but other visuals can only filter the map.
Of course, if you have any new ideas, you are welcome to contact us.Hopefully, my expression will give you a better understanding of why.

Hi, @jobf
Your idea is great!
The issue you’re encountering relates to the difference between cross-highlighting and slicer filtering:
Cross-highlighting tends to work as follows: when you select a data point in one visual, related data in other visuals is highlighted, while unrelated data is dimmed but still visible. However, it’s important to note that this is primarily a visual highlight and does not filter the data at the data level.
Here is a screenshot from the official documentation:

Slicer filtering, on the other hand, completely filters out unrelated data, displaying only the relevant data. It is more inclined towards filtering the entire dataset directly. This is why the tooltip always shows the actual data values rather than the highlighted values.

I see. But there's still one thing that confuses me. Ok, clicking on the plot on the map will only highlight the relevant values in the column chart and won't change the tooltip. But why when I do the opposite it's not the same? As I said before, I put the tooltip on the chart and on the map, but when I click on a year on the chart to see the tooltip on the map, it changed, as you can see below:
