Time Intelligence- YTD

Sorry for the remedial question here--in the past I have been able to get the YTD function to work but tried it three different ways and can't seem to get it to work  Below are some sample data and questions:

first calc: YTD Sales = TOTALYTD([Total Sales],dimDate[Date])

second: YTD Sales 2 = CALCULATE(SalesYTDTest[Total Sales],DATESYTD(dimDate[Date]))

third: YTD Sales 3 = CALCULATE(SUM(SalesYTDTest[Sales]),DATESYTD(dimDate[Date]))

Seems like one of these would work...anythoughts?

Your relationship is backward. DimDate should be on the one side, Fact table should be on the many.
