Three columns index

Hello,

I have a table in the visual pane.  This table combine the information of at least three diffent tables.  Now, my client would like that I sort the results showed in this table by

a) total project amount (descending)

b) Project Number (alphanumeric)

c) Project phase

such as below:

Project amount  Project   Phase  index

5000                      B            1          1

4999                       A           1          2

4999                       A           2          3

Does someone know how to calculate the index using DAX.

Thanks in advance for your help

@Anonymous

After merging your tables on a unique ID (or another index column), you can click on "Add Column" in the Query Editor and then "Index Column."

Oops! Just saw that you asked about an index column using DAX. Sorry if my answer doesn't help at all.

You are proposing a nice solution.  But what do we do if the amout (your column 1 ) is a key measure calculated from two tables ex:

Total Labor cost per project = CALCULATE(sum('Fact LaborDetail'[ProjLaborCostTotalAmt]),ALLEXCEPT('DIM Project','Dim Project'[WBS1]))
