T SQL to DAX conversion

Hello Everyone,

I am new to PowerBI. I am trying to convert this sql to DAX.

I am not getting any success.

I am trying to create a calculated colum that calculates the number of time "(-)" is present in the Deltas column for each row.

Here is my SQL:

Select

[Deltas]

,COUNTDeltas = (LEN(Deltas) - LEN(REPLACE(Deltas, '(-)', '')))/LEN('(-)')

From MyTable

Please assist.

thank you so much!

It looks like you can use the LEN function and the SUBSTITUTE function to create your COUNTDeltas column.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/query-bi/dax/substitute-function-dax

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/query-bi/dax/len-function-dax

You should be able to get a pretty direct transation from your T-SQL:

(LEN([Deltas]) - LEN(SUBSTITUTE([Deltas], '(-)', ''))) / LEN('(-)')
