Dear Community,
I am hoping that someone is able to assist.
I have a large collection of Projects where the Summary Task Name holds most of the information for that scheme on this line (task outline level 1). For each Summary Task i have a number of Tasks (Task Outline Level 2) where the individual dates for the tasks are entered. I would love to be able to roll down the information from the Summary Task Name line down to the Tasks. I would need this for chosen columns as not all columns would need to have the information rolled down. Please see my Project Online example data attached.
I am connecting Project Online to Power BI through an OData feed which when i transform the data gives me a standard Parent Task Name which i have dabbled with but to no avail. I have also investigated using the Fill down option under Transform but as i have 100+ projects which pull through unless i can place my data into a logical order in which the data is sorted by Project, Summary Task then Task, the fill down option would not be viable.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
@JoeHazelton Hard to say exactly, what does your source data look like? Maybe a Merge operation? Alternatively you could write measures or calculated columns for this like LOOKUPVALUE, MAXX(FILTER(...),...), etc.?
Hi Greg,
Thanks for coming back to me. I have attached a screenshot of transform page if that helps in anyway. I am new to BI and have only created a few calculated columns previously.
Thanks.
HI @JoeHazelton,
Perhaps you can try to use URL conversion into the OData connector to apply custom operations then you can apply fill functions on these records.
