Is there a way to properly sort this column. I tried adding another column for sorting it by converting it to a whole number but it returns a circular dependency error.

Here are the steps you can follow:
1. You can add a Value in front of the function of this week.
week = VALUE(WEEKDAY('Table'[date]))
2. Select the week column, and then click to select Sort ascending to sort
3. Result:
