Hi,
i have a calculated column "A" made in the modelview.
to sort the labels in a visual i want to add a sortcolumn "A_sort",
which is another calculated column out of the calculated column "A".
if i now want to sort "A" after "A_sort", i get a circular relationship problem.
DAX seems so powerful.. but oftentimes it doesnt allow you to do things... i always have to do the main stuff in the query editor... this is really annoying because the query editor is soooooooo slow.
i know the way to manually add a table with one column with the distinct values of "A" and one sort column. And connect it in the model view... but then i get thousands of little sort tables in my modelview and it gets confusing.
is there another way to do this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@elaj , Drive A and Sort A from same base column, so not create sort A from A. Means push the calculation A and Sort A together in Sort A.
example how month and month sort both created from same base table
Month Year = FORMAT([Date],"mmm-yyyy")
Month Year sort = FORMAT([Date],"yyyymm")
