Hi!
I have a report with row level security on a field 'town'. Users of the report have permission which let them see the data for one or more towns.
The report uses the SmartFilter component to let the user pick which town(s) they want view the report for, then all of the other visualisations update and show the town(s) data.
When a user first opens the report no data is selected, until they select a town.
As a temporary fix, I have saved the report in the desktop (then push to the embedded service) with towns already selected for the users who use the report the most they then have values in the SmartFilter already loaded.
Is there a better solution? I don't fancy typing every town into the Smart Filter for each report I have!
Thanks for any help!
Hi @manderson,
Could you please mark the proper answer if it's convenient for you? That will be a help to others.
Best Regards!

Thanks @v-jiascu-msft - but this post has not helped me, as @Eric_Zhang says:
If RLS is mandotory, you could still use the old embedding model, the old Power BI Embedded service(on azure) will continue to be available for a limited time.
I am trying to use the old embedding model for the moment.
Thanks
Hi @manderson,
RLS is working with the old embedding model (deprecated) of Power BI embedded. But there is only a workaround for the new model for now. Please refer to this post by Eric_Zhang for details.
Best Regards!
Dale
