Hello All
I am facing one issue, while writing in text box I am not able to fetch any value in smart narrative text whether it is measure or any column, while previously fetched values are also not editables, but I can see them there already reflecting.
For testing purpose I Called the same measure which is already reflecting smart narrative text, but I am not able to still fetch those measure values again in same text box.
Please let me know if anyone can help me with this.
Hi @Jessica_17
Can you share a screenshot (after hiding sensitive information) of the present smart narrative and your expected result? Which measure do you want to bring in?

Hi @PijushRoy
I have a measure as
sv = if(selectedvalue(bk[njk]) ="ABC","ABC",blank())
when I am trying to fetch even the values which are already showing as shown in picture 2, I am not able to refetch it or edit it anyhow, even Q&A feature is turned on.

Hi @Jessica_17
I am trying to replicate the issue and found everything is working as expected in latest Power BI desktop version.
Please find the below example
Update your power bi desktop application
When you are using NLP (natural language processing), please keep the measure or column name as much as you describe. So NLP will work faster and smoothly.
In your measure name is SV, which is not meaningful to the name of a computer. Please rectify this.
After that, if it is still not working, please check your data model and rectify
If still facing issues, please follow the below steps to add Synomics for your measure and column name

Hello @PijushRoy
I have written SV just for an example purpose over here, and power BI is of latest version, I have used same measures in another dashboard it is working perfectly, but when I am changing it in another dashboard, it is showing same behaviour in all of my pbix's.
Hi @Jessica_17
Please look
1. Check the data model relationships to ensure that the new metric value is based on the correctly associated table in the data model
2. Check the naming conventions to make sure that the new metrics have clear and distinct names that do not conflict with existing names.
3. verify dataset refresh to confirm that the dataset has been refreshed after the new metric value was created (if possible, force a manual refresh and then check that the metric value is recognized).
4. Check that the "Create local indexes so that Q&A applies to remote models" option is enabled in the "Data Loading" section of the "Options" menu.

HI @PijushRoy
I have checked all above points, found one thing that it is happening inside my designated VM, when I am doing the same thing in another file in local, it is working perfeclty,
if you colud help me what changes might not be there in the VM
as far as I saw local and VM have same Power BI settings.
Hi @Jessica_17
If you bring a Smart Narrative visual to the tour report page in VM (not a blank page - there should be at least two visuals are there like a Bar Chart or Pie Chart and the visuals should be related and meaningful), please check whether the AI automatically generated Smart Narrative or not.
Please let me know

HI @PijushRoy
I did a workaround and used a measure and table to show the value, as something has been switched off for me at VM side for temporary purpose. Thanks for the help.
