I really try and test this new feature but after 5 days I just gave up. Main reasons:

- Too many click to find

- Missing format functions (bugs - I tried to change a card name using the option and the title name disappeared)

- Not very intuitive

*Please, don't deploy this one.

I also like the possibility of changing the title directly on the object and also other facilities, but in general and broadly the classic way is much faster, the ideal is to have the options, never delete one and replace it with another. I like the idea of having a choice, so I use what generates gain. So far it is very, very far from being a complete and viable alternative to replace the previous one.

Hi @RosieL

I cannot find the option for "Show items with no data" when On-Object Interaction is on.

Can you tell me where it is? Has is been removed?

Thanks

Hi AIB,

This functionality is still available for you. Please right-click on the field to get the option you are looking for

Needs a lot of clicks, might be good for excel but for Power Bi is not friendly, I tried for several week  to get used to navigate with this option but not good, going back to previous

OK, so the latest update brought us a pane switcher option, but it still doesn't have all of the panes on it that you could possibly choose from? In the same spirit, the "format" tab either needs to be integrated into the pane or expanded; I find myself trying to access things there that it doesn't contain.

I tried to get used to it but too much click, I don't like it is better the previous display of options, going back

Tried using the feature - less intuitive, longer duration to build, and overall a pretty bad experience. This would not be welcome if forced. I would prefer to build in Tablaeu than a PBI that forced this kind of usage.

The names of a lot my measures are very long and often start the same. The fact you can't widden the measures pane when trying to select a feild for a visual is very inconvenent. The only way I can see the full name is if I hover and that slows down my progress a lot. Also not getting the option to see both measures and format pane at the sametime can be a little inconvent at times.

It does save space and that it is a bit more obvious what visual I am editing which I do like.

Hi Rosie,

As I suffer for a month for my generate additional clicks when I use a huge screen this feature is unuseful compared with a data panel + visualition. It's true that in small screens like tablets this feature is useful but remmember that Power BI Desktop is Desktop oriented for that reason is interesting to mantain both options

From my perspective a reemplacement is a no go, if it's a choose for the user will be interesting

1) Please don't force this on us.

2) I used it for 1 week and I found it not intuitive at all.
     - It adds too many clicks.

      - Not having the data pane + the visualization edit pane showing at the same time is a no go for me

If this is what some users are wanting that is fine, but this change is very confusing and not intituative. If the Power BI team is going to keep this approach, i would like to see an option to continue to have the older layout, and if someone wants to use the on object interaction they can. the new on object interaction is very confusing.

I wasn't a big fan with the initial roll out but after the updates, I think the on-object is improving rapidly and now use it regularly. I'd still like to see the on-object field picker a bit wider to make browsing easier - the tabs to display the fields just pushes the field names out of the visual range. But the ability to swap out fields is really nice and the right-click options make it easier to adjust the fields in a visual with less mouse movement. I've used it quite a bit for the last couple weeks and find I'm moving my mouse much less to go to the right pane to make adjustments.

Where is the option on slicers to "Show values of the selected field"?. This is valuable when working with field parameters.

Ok. Found this option in July. Maybe it was there before but I see it now.

Just add an option to make the panes stickied and the panes then stay on all the time, whatever I do.

I constantly have to click on open in new pane as the panes get closed, whenever I open a new pane or click away from a visual. It drives me nuts.

I completely agree. What should be an improvement is turning out to be a downfall.

Finally tried this for a few days and ended up turning it off.  This is an awful user experience.  It added more clicks to accomplish the same task than previous.  Please do not force us to take this on.  Leave it optional.  PLEASE.  I am begging.

EDIT ->  It would be better if we could just leave the panes where and how they are and simply add "On Object" functionality ONLY.  There is no need to change how the panes act/re-act.

Despite all the comments relating to this Ooi feature back when it was first in preview, the feature is still too clunky to use.

The main problem is that the multiple panes do not stay in place when a report is reopened, or when another pane is opened from the menu. This means that the number of clicks is too many to do simple tasks like adjust visual specific bookmarks or chnage the sync and postion of common slicers.  The extra June updates to this feature e.g. conditional formatting and always showing the switcher are welcome but until the feature can match the productivity of what it replaces I can see a relunctance to swicth to it.

Please review the full comments from users in previous updates and it would be appreciated if these will be sorted or if not then why. Any other "enhancements" that change the preview feature may offer alternatives but it is not clear where the strategic direction is going with this.  Are we stuck with its inconsistencies?

Yeah, I really dislike this On-Object interaction. Feels so much less intuitive.

Hi,

I tried to put the same table column twice in a visualization, as I always do, but the On-Object didn't allow it, even using the new mode. My intention is to put a name and a COUNT of it beside without creating a measure. It was a quick analysis.

I came back to the "old" interface.

Regards,

Emanuel
