Shape Map and Map Keys

I am using a shape map for wards in a city and I cannot get the wards to color differently.  How do Map Keys figure into the equation?  Does anyone have any thoughts?

are you plotting any measures with values to the visual?  Can you share an example or at least a pic of how you have defined the visual?

Shape Map is still a map. So we need to add the Location field. Please refer to the snapshot below.
