Scatter chart not showing dates in order

I have a dot plot that compares how long a task has been open vs when it was first created. When I add a legend to my graph, the dates along the x axis become out of order and I don't know how to fix it

There's a chance you just need to change the sorting in the top right corner.

I have tried sorting by the date but it is still incorrect.
