Scatter Chart Jitter

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to create a scatter chart where the plots are "jittered", or not stacked on top of each other like the screenshot below... I saw some people using R but I am not able to follow what they are doing as i am not as familiar with R

Please let me know if my question does not make sense

Thank you!

I came across the same need as you. I added a calculated column using the RAND DAX function:

Jitter = RAND()

I then added that column as my y-axis (in your case you can add it to the x-axis) and got the jitter I was looking for.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Here is a link about customed visualization, you could refer to it.

Hey @Anonymous ,

jitter is not supported by the default Power BI visuals.

Maybe a custom visual supports this feature.

You can also try to use a custom column with a hexcode like so #32a85260 as the first 6 characters represent the color (some kind of green) the last 2 digits represent opacity. This might help to reduce the overplotting effect using default visuals.

Regards,

Tom
