Hi everyone, I'm building a Matrix visual in Power BI Desktop with several measures displayed as rows (Values → Options → "Switch values to rows" = On). Columns are fiscal years (FY2026–FY2030). Goal: make ONLY the #sale_B row bold – both the row header and its values – while #sale_A and #sale_C stay regular. What I've tried: 1. Format → Specific column → Series = #sale_B: this card only offers Text color, Background color, Alignment, Display units and Value decimal places. There is no font style / bold option. 2. Conditional formatting (Cell elements): supports background color, font color, data bars, icons and web URL, but not font weight. 3. Values → Font → Bold: applies to all measures, not just one. 4. Workaround: a text measure that replaces digits with Unicode bold characters (U+1D7EC–U+1D7F5). It looks bold, but the output is text, so alignment, number formatting and Excel export break, and the row header is still not bold. Questions: - Is there a native way to bold a single measure (values + row header) in a Matrix? - If not, what is the cleanest workaround you would recommend (different model structure, calculation groups, another visual, etc.)?46Views0likes4CommentsHow do you handle subtotals that don't equal the sum of child rows?
Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice on how others handle a reporting scenario involving distinct counts in a matrix visual Electronics 150 Online 120 Retail 80 Wholesale 40 So user would expect 120 + 80 + 40 = 240 and wonder why total is only 150. The reason is that the value is a Distinct Count of Customers. The same customer may appear in multiple sales channels, so the subtotal is recalculated at the category level rather than being the sum of the visible rows. My measure DISTINCTCOUNT(CustomerID) is a non-additive measure, so parent totals don't equal the sum of their children. My questions is how do you typically present this to business users and do you leave the matrix as-is and provide an explanation? a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Hi, I'm having an issue with dates coming from an Excel source into Power BI. The source dates are intended to be in UK format (DD/MM/YYYY). However, dates where the day is 12 or below can be interpreted as MM/DD/YYYY, which moves transactions into the wrong month and significantly affects the monthly totals in the report. For example, an intended date such as: 08/10/2026 = 8 October 2026 can potentially be interpreted as: 10 August 2026 The problem is particularly difficult to identify because dates where the day is greater than 12 cannot be interpreted the other way around, so the issue appears to affect only the ambiguous dates at the beginning of each month. The report uses an Excel source and the affected field needs to remain a proper Date data type because it is related to a Date table and used for monthly filtering and measures. I would like to ensure that Power BI always interprets the incoming values as: DD/MM/YYYY / English (United Kingdom) rather than relying on automatic locale detection. What is the most reliable way to enforce this at import/Power Query level so that it remains correct after refresh and after publishing?Solved85Views2likes6CommentsCombining Two Power BI Dashboards into One Report
Hello, I currently have two separate Power BI dashboards/reports, each connected to its own data source. I don't need to merge or combine the underlying data sources. What I'm trying to achieve is having copy the pages with my visualizations so users can access everything in one place. Is there a way to bring the pages/visuals from one report into another without having to rebuild them manually or merge the datasets? Ideally, I'd like to keep the existing data connections and simply consolidate the reporting experience. Has anyone done this before, and what would be the recommended approach? Thanks!45Views2likes4CommentsComposite model Refresh issue
Hi guys, I wanted to consolidate 3 power bi reports into one, following it i used the live connection semantic model top get data, after that adding another report, it converted the live connection to direct query storage mode, i was able to create the consolidated report after publishing it on the service the refresh took 1 second finding out that the report isnt refreshing its showing the older data, any solution for this, I used the power bi Workspace apps to show the report as i needed only one page from each report(Summary Page) but the business denied it bevcause they want to see the 3 reports in scrolling26Views0likes4Commentssemantic model design and DAX
Hi all, I need some help to resolve some issue. Currently I have 4 tables. there is service table which contains all service approved. There is a table called transfer which recorded when a service is transferred from one owner to another owner within the same state or from other state. There is a table called complaint which records all complaints a service received There is a table called compliance action which records all compliance action which a service being issued. The purpose of the project is to measure what is the impact when a transfer of service happened. it is measure by #complaint and # compliance action. In the semantic model, I cannot link the transfer table with the complaint or compliance action table directly since the multiple transfer with multiple complaint/multiple compliance action. What can I do to overcome this design and be able to measure # complaint before and after a transferred occurred # compliance action before and after a transferred occurred. the current measure below does not take a factor into the account where there is multiple transfer and multiple compliance action. eg there are 2 transfer, 4 compliance action. instead of showing 4 compliance action, the result will return 8. Is it possible to create a workaround solution to resolve this issue? Compliance actions = countrows( filter( 'DimCompliance Action', 'DimCompliance Action'[Service ID] in VALUES ('DimTransfer'[Service ID]) ) Compliance action Before Any Transfer = CALCULATE( COUNTROWS('DimCompliance Action'), FILTER( 'DimCompliance Action', 'DimCompliance Action'[Date compliance action issued] < CALCULATE( MIN(DimTransfer[Actual Transfer Effective Date]), ALLEXCEPT('Service Fact', 'Service Fact'[Service ID]) ) ) ) )70Views2likes3Commentsnew input slicer - how to paste multiple items?
