new input slicer - how to paste multiple items?

I am trying to filter multiple values using new input slicer

I enabled multiple values option

However, when I try to paste more than one item into the slicer from excel or notebook

, values that I enter are concatenated and are not treated as separate values

Does anybody know how to paste multiple items from excel/notebook? I know that I can enter values one by one but with more items it is problematic.

Is this a bug?

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Fabric community forum.

As noted by the danextian , the new Input Slicer currently has a limitation bulk pasting multiple values isn’t supported, and any pasted entries are combined into one value. As an alternative, you can use a standard slicer (list or dropdown), which allows you to copy and paste multiple values directly from Excel or similar sources, letting Power BI identify and filter each value separately. While this may not address all your needs, improvements to the Input Slicer are being considered. For now, we suggest using this workaround until further updates are available.

  • This seems to be a limitation

However, the other slicer visuals now accept copy-pasting.
