SUMX Easy Example

Hi,

Can someone explain why the grand total is not 150 + 275 + 185 + 265 = 875?

I thought SUMX iterates over a table and returns the sum of the expression.

Thanks

Try this instead

test = SUMX(Sheet1,Sheet1[x] + Sheet1[y])

and check the answer on each row and the total

Think the way you have written the expression is summing the grand total for each record .

I assume you have 5 records on your input table and 5 x 875 = 4375

Hi @Anonymous

in test = SUMX(sheet1, x+y) the filter context has changed.

Keep it simple and just use test = X+Y

Oh, nm. I guess it was the SUM around the columns that messed it up. Thanks!

Yeah just 5 rows and there are no other filters. Oddly enough I'm getting the same result.
