Rows missing in imported data from SQL-Connection (Power BI desktop)

Hi,

When I import data from an SQL connection to the Data-model in Power BI Desktop the Data actually loaded to Power BI does not match data in my Query Editor Preview. It seems like some rows are lost during the import. 

I have attached an example below: 

1) Below is the data representation that is missing data in Power BI Desktop. The criteria for the data row are:

Document No. = 10119264 and

Master No. 8S16P402 and

Posting Date = 2016-01-02 and

Amount = 239,96

 

2) However, if I look in the Data Query Preview for the SQL-connection feeting the Data model the above mentioned row of data is included in the data for import (marked with gray). 

I tried only to import the missing row seperatly filtering on the Document No. and Master No. in the Query editor and this part works. However if I load the full data set this row is missing. 

Do you have any possible explaination to this issue?

Hi @ChristofferL,

In my opinion, I'd like to suggest you to deal with this column to remove any whitespace or other special characters.

In addition, you can also try to modify the filter mode to 'contain' or 'starts with'.

Hi thank you for the tip.

I managed to solve the issue and it indeed had to do with the column formating. The data format for the matching columns in the query merge were data type 'Any' for both columns.

For some reason most rows matched except a few rows apparently having a different format. I changed the format of the matching ID columns to 'Text' which solved the issue.

Perhaps I am missing something but your first image seems to show that row in the dataset. ?
