Row level Security

Hello,

I am kind of a rookie when it comes to Row Level Security. I have only had to apply it a couple of times. I only had to connect the static file with one table and so it was not much of a hassel. However, I am currently trying to deploy it in a report that has multiple tables in it and realized that the static way is probably not the best case scenario here. I have tried Dynamic Row Level and connected the user table with just one table and failed miserably. And so, I was wondering if I would need to link it with the base table so that it connects with all of them?
I guess what I am trying to say is that I do not know much about Dynamic Row Level and haven't found a proper tutorial for it to see how it would go with enterprises. I am still learning and so every bit counts. Thank you

@syasmin25 I have a blog on RLS that talks about how to implement (any) business logic in RLS, check this post here and you can implement RLS in your model based on the learning from this post.

I would  Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!

Can I implement RLW on dashboard that has multiple live reports?

@syasmin25 what is RLW?

Yes RLS will be implemented on the dashboard automatically based on the underline RLS from underline reports. Think of the dashboard is a virtual view of your reports.

Hijacking this thread somewhat. Do you find that Dashboards use RLS reliably? I've found that due to the caching nature of Dashboards they sometimes will display incorrect information to the end user, most likely whatever was on them when the App was published. This is using SQL Analysis Services via Live Connect - reports have no issues.
