Well I was solving another question from pl300 and had a query.
Q) In Power BI Desktop, you need to create a role.
Which two interfaces can you use?
PL300 practise set has answer Report view and Model view, but i found we can create role using all the three Model view, Data View and Report view. I am attaching a screen shot for confirming my answer :-

Hi @subha257 ,
As far as I can tell, Manage Roles can be clicked in all three of the above places in Powerbi Desktop.
So I think a big reason for not selecting Data view in the options is that in Powerbi Desktop, its name shows Table view.

Still following. This question still appears today with Data view as wrong answer. I am not sure should the question be updated or not. But it is super confusing.

Hi @subha257 -The correct answer from your PL-300 practice question aligns with the Report View and Model View as the interfaces from which roles can be created in Power BI Desktop. The Data View or table View allows for data exploration, but role management features aren't accessible there.
The practice set is correct with Report View and Model View being the two interfaces where you can create roles.
Hope this helps.

Table view aka Data view also has manage role option. So not sure why data view is not a correct answer.
Hi @rajendraongole1
I have attached a screenshot from data view tab, it shows managing and creating role is possible.
Can you please be little specific why role will not work from data view tab.
