Return the name of the active MTD MOnth and YTD Year

I am doing some time intelligence formulae and wanted to represent the  Active MTD Month Name and Active YTD Year Value on two Cards.
How is this possible?
Thanks.

OK,

 You can try something like this:

ActiveMonthNumber = MONTH(Today())
ActiveYear = YEAR(Today())
ActiveMonthText = FORMAT(TODAY(), "MMM")

Please accept as solution if this answers the question- thanks!

How are you determining the "active" mtd month?

it's not selecting, I have used DatesMTD and DatesYTD, for other formulas. so I just wanted a Measure to return the Month we are in and the Year we are in...

Hi @Datagulf ,

 Assuming you are using a date table with month and year in it, you can do something like this

Active Month= SelectedValue(Datetable[Month])

Active Year= SelectedValue(Datetable[Year])
