Replacing values in all measures or calculated columns

Hi,

Is there a way to change all references from one field to another across all measures or calculated columns?

For example, I have a field called Job_Priority that is used in a lot of calculated columns and measures, but I now want to use Job_Priorities2. Do I have to manually edit every measure or calculated column? Or is there a better way I can acheive this?

Thanks!

HI @lottieritchie,

I think you can't directly do these on the power bi side, perhaps you can try to use some external tools to directly modify with power bi data model and its field reference.

Hi, @lottieritchie

Please correct me if I wrongly understood your question.

In my case, and I am not sure how others do but in some cases they are changing all measures like you planned, I change the existing column name [Job_Priority] to [Job_Priority2], then I create a new column that is called [Job_Priority].

Thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately this doesn't work as the references just update to 'Job_Priority2' so the reference doesn't change over to my new column. I tried just renaming my new field to the name of the previous one hoping it would write over the references to it, but it doesn't allow this.
