I have the following matrix table:
Rows: Fiscal Year
Columns: Quarter Halves
Values: % and Count
I am trying to figure out how to hide the "Quarter Halves" column title (highlighted above). It is unecessary and is confusing people. Please tell me there is a way to do this, or at least a work-around.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Power BI doesn't have a direct "hide this specific column group header" toggle, but you can make "Quarter Halves" disappear cleanly.

In Microsoft Power BI Matrix visuals, the “Quarter Halves” text is the column field header. Sadly, there is currently no direct built-in option to hide only that single column group title while keeping the actual column values visible.
However, there are a few practical workarounds that usually solve this cleanly:
Workaround 1 (Best Option): Rename the Field to a Blank Character:
This is the most used approach.
In the Fields pane, right-click your Quarter Halves field.
Choose Rename for this visual.
Rename it to:
a single space " "

The first solution didn't work because it made all the text colors white (Quarter Havles, First Half, Second Half, Fiscal Year, %, and Count). The alternative with renaming it for the visual with a space worked though. Thank you.
You could consider using a space " " as the field title. This will effectively then show up as blank. Hope this helps!
