Remove Blank Rows in Matrix

Hi All,

I have a 5 level matrix (for example), which includes rows that are empty, due to some values having 5 applicable levels, and others less.

The matrix simply shows the hierarchy as rows, with an ID below each applicable row:

How can I remove the blank row in WBS Level 4 above "Barred Tee" for example.

I've looked at solutions online, and none of them seem to work in this instance, as I don't believe I have a measure.

I have created a power bi file based on my understanding. I have unpivoted the columns and calculated columns to represent the data.

Are WBS Level 2-5 calculated columns built from a Path/PATHITEM function on a Parent-Child structure, or are they already separate flat columns coming from your source table from Power Query or the database ?

Use Power Query to unpivot Level 2 through Level 5 and remove the blank values, then build a clean parent→child structure, the Matrix will then show the hierarchy correctly without empty spaces https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/Having-issue-with-Ragged-hierarchy-in-matrix-visua....

Practically: create one column that concatenates only the non-blank levels into a single path/label per row (e.g., "PIPING" for the parent's own line, "PIPING > Barred Tee" for the child), and drive the matrix from that instead of 5 separate Level columns.

Not sure if I fully understand, but I have unpivoted all the WBS columns, and then simply placed into a matrix as such:

The issue with this is that I cannot identify which WBS Level 3s come from which WBS Level 2s, does this make sense?
