Hi,
I have first created a Power Bi dashboard file (.pbix) and excel file on Power Bi Desktop and then moved both files to OneDrive and connected it with my workspace on PowerBi web app. It refresh the data if i start building the report again using the dataset to which it has connected but does not refresh with the PowerBi Desktop file. Can anyone please tell how can i refresh it by connecting with the datasets of pbix file after getting it from OneDrive.
Thanks in advance
Amna
Hi @amnaanwer,
If you created a dashboard in Power BI and your data source is Exel file which is located in OneDrive, then you established a connection using WEB connector and if that's the case then all you need to do is:
That's it.

Thanks, but what do you mean by "WEB connector" ? Also we have created PBIX file using windows desktop and then published it. Now we want to update it through scheduler and ONE-DRIVE.
When you created your PBIX file in the power bi desktop where was your excel file located?
Excel file was located in folder on my desktop computer with PBIX file. Later, i placed both files on OneDrive and connected them with workspace created on power bi web app.
Ok I got your point.
By moving both files to OneDrive does not change the location of the data source in the model. Go into my library there is simple manual with steps on how to connect your file located on OneDrive to PBIX model.
That's how file is called: Connecting Excel on SharePoint to Power BI
If you will have any difficulties let me know.

Hi Abduvali
Thanks for helping me. The link you sent, it says invalid parameters specified. I am unable to open it. Can you please send me link to the library?

Amna
