I'm recieving a recurring Sign In popup as soon as i insert a shape or image. I'm unable to sign in using a personal email address.
The issue does not present until a shape or image is inserted and stops when the shape or image is deleted.
Any ideas? I've tried multiple solutions from this forum but nothing has worked so far.

Hi @LuWLM ,
To enable it try using my default browser for authentication in Power BI Desktop, navigate to File - Options and settings - Options. In the Global section, select Security and check the option for Use my default browser. Please restart Power BI Desktop after making this change.
If you continue to experience issues, consider checking for network-related problems, such as proxy settings or firewall rules, that might interfere with authentication. Ensure that your Power BI Desktop is updated to the latest version, as updates often fix authentication issues.
Thank you for the suggestions. I currently have no Power BI credentials that i can see and do not wish to sign in to Power BI service.
I'm simply looking to use Power BI Desktop for training however the recurring sign in popup is making it impossible to put together a locally saved dashboard.
Can anyone advise if a the recurring sign in prompt when adding an image or shape is a known bug?

Hi @LuWLM ,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
The recurring sign-in popup in Power BI Desktop usually happens due to outdated credentials, cached session tokens, or interference from other applications. To resolve this, start by clearing any Power BI, Microsoft account, or Azure-related entries in Windows Credential Manager, then restart Power BI and sign in again. Next, make sure you are running the latest version of Power BI Desktop, as updates often fix authentication issues. It’s also helpful to clear the local cache by deleting temporary folders at C:\Users<YourUser>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\AnalysisServicesWorkspaces.
Additionally, check if VPNs, firewall rules, or credential management software might be blocking authentication and disable them temporarily if needed. If the issue persists, a clean reinstall of Power BI Desktop removing leftover folders and installing the latest version typically resolves the problem.
Best Regards,
Sreeteja
Open Credential Manager in Windows
Go to Windows Credentials
Remove all Power BI related credentials
Restart Power BI and sign in again
