Hi @unnijoy
If you've fixed the issue on your own please kindly share your solution. if the above posts help, please kindly mark it as a solution to help others find it more quickly. If not, please kindly elaborate more. thanks!
As i see your quarters are not following the normal division in a year, in any case there are only 4 quarters so you can create a simply column calculated with IF
QuarterNum = IF( (Month = 12 || Month = 1 || Month = 2 ), 1, IF( (Month = 3 || Month = 4 || Month = 5 ), 2, IF( (Month = 6 || Month = 7 || Month = 8 ),3,4)))
Hi @dobregon ,
thanks for your quick reply.
Can you please help me to get this in the format like QTR 1 - 2020. And when we use this in graph can we sort it like Latest quarter will come first.
Hi @amitchandak ,
I create a calculated column by combining Qtr and year. But still i am not able to sort it when i use that in x axis. Like latest QTR first.
So the login what i use is I take the month number. And i use Switch function to get Quarter based on month number .
For example if month number is 12 the switch will give me Q1. I i use to get the year using the Year function.
If month number is 12 then Q1 && Year (Date)+1. So i will get like below
For December 2019= Q1 2020.
Now my issue is with sorting. How to get the sorting done in this.
@unnijoy now that you have the column with the format of QTR, number and year that you want. then you have in the X axis.
if you click in the visual you will see 3 points on the top right, click on this, select sort ascending by and here select your X axis and then you will have your x axis sorted like Q1 2020, Q2 2020, Q3 2020, etc
its no giving me in the correct sort order.
@unnijoy what are you trying to sort?
i see in your first point that you want to create a table with the quarters. Do you refer to create a table (dataset) with the info or do you refer a visual table (similar to matrix table).
If it is the first option, it is not necessary to have sorted the table becasue you can sort the info in the visual in the format that you want
If it is the second option, you need to add the column Quartername in the table and then you can click in the header of the column visual and the system will sort the info. and if you click again you will sort from z-A. Other option is using the 3 points option of the visual ans sort.
This should work, in any case it doesnt work it would be very helpfull for us if you can paste some screenshots or the bi example in the comments.
