What does <> mean?

Someone in a reply had used the symbol <>? What is this symbol called? I used it in the following Measure:

Total Spend No Acruals = CALCULATE(SUM(FactInvoiceHeader[Invoice Net Amount]), FactInvoiceHeader[Invoice Type Code] <> "Journal Entry")

I assumer it means Not Equal to, similar to an SQL NOT IN.

@Anonymous ,

<> Not equal to

In  is [A] in {1,2,4}

or

[A] in {"1","2","3"}

not in should work like

not([A] in {1,2,4})

or

not([A] in {"1","2","3"})
