Publishing cannot replace current report

Hi,

I'm having an issue where when I try to update an existing report by downloading the .pbix file, making changes then publishing the report, the changes are not reflected in the reports online. I'm using the same name and it's asking if I'd like to replace the report which I am saying yes, it all appears to work but then when you check the report online it has not been updated.

I've used the above method for a long time with no issue, but since coming back to work in the new year I've had this issue. Possibly something in the December update?

I have tried changing the name of the report and this will create a new up to date report, however I'd really like it to keep the same name as we use a 3rd party application for staff to see these reports and if I change the name I will have to readd the staff to the new reports each time which is not really feasible.

Has anyone come across this issue before?

Thanks

Are you talking about the report in the workspace or inside an app created from a workspace?

If you make a visual change, then republishing from Desktop will update the report in the workspace but you'll need to update the app from the workspace for the change to flow all the way through to the app. (Dataset updates don't need this extra step, just changes to the model or visuals.)

No it won't update in the workspace, if I publish as a new report with a new name it will publish but attempting to replace an existing report does nothing even though it says it has been updated.

Seems to be a bit of a bug to me.
