I am following this article to create a process map from R in powerbi: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Power-BI-Community-Blog/Business-Process-Analysis-in-Power...
It runs successfully with a frequency map. However, when I run the performance map, it gives me the following error message. I can run it in R without error, just the R script in PowerBi give me error:
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @MangoMango,
I wanted to check if you had the opportunity to follow up on our previous conversation. If yes can you please provide the sample data so that we can provide you with the accurate and correct solution.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. If my response has addressed your query, please accept it as a solution so that other community members can find it easily.
Thank you
Hi @MangoMango ,
Thankyou for your Query!
The issue may be due to Power BI’s limited support for certain R functions and packages. While your script works fine in R, Power BI expects:
Verify that all required R packages used in your script are installed and accessible to Power BI.
Check if any functions or libraries in the script are unsupported in Power BI’s R environment.
Make sure your script returns a data frame, as Power BI needs this for visualisation.
Review the data used in the performance map and ensure the data types and structure match what the script expects.
Try running a simplified version of the script in Power BI to identify where the issue is coming from.
If this solution worked for you, kindly mark it as Accept as Solution and feel free to give a Kudos, it would be much appreciated!
Thankyou for using Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
I am doing the exact same as what's posted in the following url, which was posted 5 years ago. I am able to run frequency map, but not the performance map. These two maps requires the same package. So it is not the R package issue.

Hi @MangoMango,
Thank you for the information.
Since you’re able to run the Frequency Map successfully with the same R package, and the issue only arises when running the Performance Map, it seems likely that the problem is related to how Power BI is handling the script or data, rather than the R package itself.
Here are a few steps to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Pay close attention to the error message you receive when running the Performance Map in Power BI. The error message can often provide specific clues regarding the underlying issue, such as a data type mismatch, script error, or environment limitation.
Ensure that the data you’re passing to the Performance Map in Power BI is in the expected format and structure. Even if the same package is used, the data fed into the Frequency Map may differ from that required for the Performance Map. Consider testing with a simplified dataset to check if the issue persists.
While the script works fine in your local R environment, Power BI’s R integration may behave differently. Please ensure there are no additional external libraries, settings, or configurations in your local environment that might be incompatible with Power BI’s R engine.
If possible, try running a minimal version of the Performance Map script. This can help isolate whether the issue is tied to a specific part of the script or its complexity. Once identified, we can focus on the failing section.
Make sure both your Power BI Desktop version and the R integration are up to date. Sometimes, issues can arise from version discrepancies or incompatibilities between the local R environment and Power BI’s R engine.
If the issue continues after these checks, please provide the exact error message or any additional details about your dataset. This will assist us in further narrowing down the cause and providing a more targeted solution.
