Problems with SWITCH() function

Hi,

For quite some time I have problems with my SWITCH() function in Power BI Desktop.

If you look at the attached picture you can see that I created a SWITCH() function called "metric selection". With this metric selection, it is possible for the end-user to choose a metric by choice.

This SWITCH() function is created quite some time ago but now when I open this "metric selection" I only see errors, saying the syntax is incorrect. When I open this exact same "metric selection" on my colleague his PC or another PC I don't get this syntax error.

Does anyone know why only I see this error?

Hopefully, someone can help me out here.

Sorry, looking closer it looks like it does not recognize your creative_impressions measure or any other measure for that matter. I have seen this sometimes and you can fix it by simply going into your DAX and removing creative_impressions and then adding it back in. Usually, that fixes that instance and all other instances of where it is not recognizing your measure. Don't ask me why but I have had to do this several times although it generally happens while I am editing a measure in DAX it sort of loses it's mind.

Can you post the DAX for your creative_impressions measure? That seems to be what is causing the error. It is possible that you are running a newer desktop than your coworker perhaps and maybe something changed?

@Greg_Deckler

As you can see I get no errors in my creative_impressions measure.

I and my coworkers are using the February 2019 or March 2019 version but I don't think the problem lies there because until yesterday I also was using the February 2019 version.

I will try your solution regarding removing the measures and adding it back. Hopefully, this helps! Otherwise, I don't know what to do anymore.

@Anonymous this is strange. Do you see those measures used in switch statement on your machine?
