PowerBI/DAX - Counting number of values in a column

Hello,

I currently have a table that holds pass/fail statuses of people's exams.

I would like to create a month on month report that shows the difference between how many people are marked as failed last month compared to this month. To handle this I have created a third table in my PowerBI template to pull the numer of exam failures from both tables, and then compare this number.

I am trying to use a DAX solution to pull from the ExamStatus column of Table1, the number of entries listed as "Failed".

I have tried a variety of solutions found on both this forum and Google, however none seem to work.

Thanks.
