Dear All,
I would like to know if there is any Power BI Visual Extension so I can work with Hierarchy like
Region - SALES
Europe - 1.000.000
- Scandinavia - 500.000
--Finland 200.000
--Sweden 300.000
- Eastern Europe 300.000
- Central Europe 200.000
--Germany 100.000
--Others 100.000
It would be nice to have some kind of functionality: collapse or expand the hierarchy dynamically.
Cheers,
Regards,
@phenohana123 are these separate fields?
if they are its very easy to create a hiearchy

Hi Thanks.
I'm not looking for a Graphical,
I'm looking something like a Table.
Cheers!
@phenohana123,
Currently, it is not possible to expand/collapse Hierarchies in Tables/Matrix visuals in Power BI Desktop. An idea about this issue has been submitted in this link, please vote up this idea to make the team prioritize it.
In addition, by using Matrix Preview, you can only expand all items in a level at once, rather than expanding one category at a time. For more details, please review this similar thread: http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Is-it-possible-to-have-a-matrix-preview-without-collapsing/t... .
Regards,
can you use the matrix preview visualisaton?
This is the link you sent to me!
But here, you are adding more fields. I just want to have only one hierarchy for Region. Not Region, Country, City in separate. I want to have Region, Country, City in same so I can maintain in one.
This is an example, because I have also Product Hierarchy with 6 level maximum and the last level can be any level!
@phenohana123 i dont understand if you combine region, country etc into 1 hiearchy they will work as one?

Ok. Let me explain better.
I only have data from lowest level, in this case countrys, another nodes are whole virtuals.
for example, I have data from Switzerland and Others not for Central Europe.
Central Europe is just a "dummy node" where calculate it automatically.
got it?
@phenohana123 was that explaning better
you saying you have a mix of things in your column and you want to create a hierarchy with levels but you only currently have one column?
since power bi is a data visualiastion tool, visuals are usually best to explain things.
ideally...
show me what you have in the table
and then show me what you want.

Hi Please find an example of hierarchy
value | |||||||
Node | Product | 169 | |||||
Node | ProductGroup1 | 103 | |||||
Node | Car | 33 | |||||
Node | Audi | 33 | |||||
A1 | 10 | Data | |||||
A2 | 11 | Data | |||||
A6 | 12 | Data | |||||
Node | Boat | 70 | |||||
Boatv1 | 30 | Data | |||||
Boatv2 | 40 | Data | |||||
Node | ProductGroup2 | 66 | |||||
Node | Mobile | 66 | |||||
Node | Iphone | 46 | |||||
Iphone4 | 10 | Data | |||||
Iphone5 | 11 | Data | |||||
iphone6 | 12 | Data | |||||
iphone7 | 13 | Data | |||||
samsungs8 | 20 | Data |
For example, I have one table
- Product and Value
I want to have the hierarchy where describe this way!
Cheers
@phenohana123,
Create Parent-Child hierarchies following the instrunctions in the blog below, then create visual in Power BI Desktop.

Regards,
@phenohana123 did you watch the video? ts not graphical, please watch the video to understand properly.
