Power BI desktop free version (smartsheet and SQL connections as data sources)

Hello everyone,

Is it true that Power BI desktop free version only allows connectivity to Excel and CSV files?
Is there any difference between power BI desktop pro and free version as far as connectivity to data sources?
My end user is interested in using smartsheet and SQL connections as data sources.
I have Pro so I don't know how to verify this, so posting here for verification.

Hey,

Power BI (Free) is not limited to any specific data source, as you can see here:

https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/

The free version is limited by sharing insighs (dashboard and reports) with others.

Power BI (Free) is "just" a personal solution
