Performance Problems With Power BI Tables

Performance Problems With Power BI Tables

We have found a problem with the DAX generated by Power BI for tables with a large number of rows, fields from two or more large hierarchies and totals turned on. In our reports in PowerBI Cloud service when we have run this query it has resulted in absolute capacity utilisation of CPU of our SQL Server (all reports have been setup through live connection SSAS) and we had to restart the whole server. This problem happened to us with tables that included a large number of rows and two or more hierarchies in it. We have solved the issue temporarily the easy way and turned off the totals row in the table (after crashing our SQL server three times before that). This problem has been already described by Chriss Webb blog – see link. https://blog.crossjoin.co.uk/2016/09/26/ssas-multidimensional-caching-related-performance-problems-w... Are you aware of this issue and when we can expect that it will be fixed? Thank you J Misun

Is there any update on that? This is serious issue with SSAS MD and PowerBI.
