PBI to MySQL. Unable to connect to foreign data source

Hello,

I am facing an issue while trying to connect through Power BI MySQL database connector navigator to MySQL database. I did not have this issue before and I have no idea what is the problem now.

When I connect to database to MySQL server while using the navigator mode I receive DataSourceError that this data source is foreign. 

Once I am trying not to use navigator mode, but taking data while writting simple SQL statement it works fine and I can retrieve data to Power BI.

It would be ok for me to use SQL statement, but I face another issue while trying to schedule refresh the report and I believe that these issues are somehow linked. 

This is the error I get while trying to manage scheduled refresh.

Maybe anyone has any ideas what could cause the problem and is it Power BI issue or I should search for the answer in MySQL database? As I said, I faced this issue about 1 month ago, everything was working fine till then. I also can connect to MySQL Workbench with the same credentials without any troubles.

I found a solution. It seems that after the update MySQL database connection does not work with personal on-premises gateway on PBI service, even though I can connect to DB on PBI desktop. I had to use standart instead of personal and it worked, now I can use scheduled refresh.

According to the description, errorCode=-2147467259 often represents invalid credentials for the datasets. In this case, please try to clear the credentials about MySQL in Power BI Desktop and reconnect to it.

If you can connect successfully using the above method, try configuring the schedule refresh again to see if you get an error.

@Anonymous,  thank you for your reply.

But if this is the case why would SQL statement work, but the navigator mode would not? Shouldn't the issue with credentials dissable connection for all types?
