Hello Guys!
Nice to meet you all. I have question regarding creating Numeric Range Parameter in Power BI.
I want to create Numeric Range Parameter in PowerBI and still connected to the semantic model using Direct Lake mode.
I know that we can easily create Field Parameter using Tabular Editor. But I'am not sure if Tabular Editor can do the same for Numeric Range Parameter (it is easily done thru Import or Direct Query Mode where NEW PARAMETER option is not greyed out). Probably need some C# code from someone to create it.
So I hope experts in this community have ideas how to create one. It would be greatly appreciate!

You might be able to create a calculated table using the XMLA end point assuming that read/write is enabled (requires premium capacity). The endpoint can be found in workspace settings.
I coudn't fully test it as I am using a developer account and there seems to be no option to enable read/write in capacity settings but this is how it looks when not yet deployed (column is not showing).
Once deployed, you need to modify the Extended Properties of the column so it allows just a single selection only using the slider.

Hi @MinCK - Unfortunately, Direct Lake mode does not currently support creating parameters directly within the Power BI interface.
Create a DAX Calculated Table: In Power BI Desktop, go to Modeling > New Table and create a table with a range of values you want as your parameter.
NumericRange = GENERATESERIES(1, 100, 1)
Use as a Slicer: Add this new NumericRange table as a slicer in your report. You can link this slicer to your data using a measure or calculate columns that respond to this selected range.
Link with Direct Lake Data: While this table is not directly in the Direct Lake dataset, it can act as a filter, and you can set up measures to reflect changes based on the selected range.
Be mindful that this workaround does not create a true parameter in Power BI’s native sense. Instead, it creates a simulated parameter using tables and slicers.
