Hi, @heygau ;

I reproduced your issue as follows:

vyalanwumsft_0-1669960082286.png

And you could sort by year and month.

vyalanwumsft_1-1669960235034.png

Then the month column sort by "month-sort" column.

The final show:

Have you checked if the sort option is available in the top right of the visual??

If not... I like to create a column

DateSort = CONCATENATE(YEAR(Table1[your date]),MONTH(Table1[your date])) when these things dont play nicely.
You can then select the original date column you are having trouble with and do a "sort by" and use this numerical version... You can extend it out to the day if you need to by adding another concatenate nested inside that one.

@heygau , You month need have month sort column

for cal year

Month Year = FORMAT([Date],"mmm")
Month Year sort = month([DAte])

For FY assume FY is not same for all month , year start from NOV

Month Year = FORMAT([Date],"mmm")
Month Year sort = if( month([DAte])<11, month([DAte])+2, month([DAte])-10)
