My powerbi desktop is up to date. The Microsoft.net connector 8.30 an all kinds of earlier versions I installed and uninstalled. But this message is popping up over and over again. I cannot proceed/ignore it. So I cannot connect to my mysql database.
I've tried serveral 'possible' solutions:
several versions of connector installed (8.30, 29, 28, 27)
mysql workbench 8.0 installed
powerbi version is: Version: 2.126.1261.0 64-bit (februari 2024)
Windows 11 all updates executed successfull
Can anyone help me?

Hi @PowerRookie ,
@Greg_Deckler advice is great, and you need to download the 64 bit correct MySQL connector.I'll refer you here to the link for the corresponding 64-bit connector.
You can download the ODBC driver (connector / ODBC) for MySQL from the following link, this connector works fine in my environment.
https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/
Below is the link will help you:
Solved: Cannot connect to local MySQL database. - Microsoft Fabric Community
c# - Cannot install Microsoft Power Bi Postgre SQL connector - Stack Overflow

I think my install of windows 11 was corrupt somehow. Finally I did a fresh install, installed the 64-bit version afterwards (visual studio was mandatory to install as well). And after that it works like a charm! Thanks!
@PowerRookie What does the Learn more say if you click it?
it redirects straight to the following url https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/net/
I installed this one, restarted the computer, but nothing changed....
@PowerRookie Is there a 64-bit version of that? Since Power BI is 64-bit, I would think it would need to be 64-bit.
I thought the same. I'm not that technical but I've read somewhere it is not mandatory. And there is no such thing as an 64bit connector in the latest versions... But (If i'm correct) in somehow it is compatible with this version...
