Hi there,
I've just downloaded the MySQL Workbench 8.0 CE and connected into my cloud database.
But when I try to get data, my Power BI desktop still saying:
" My SQL Database
This connector requires one or more additional components to be installed before it can be used"
I'm just beginner on SQL\data bases...
Any thoughts?

Hi @Anonymous ,
As we know, MySQL Workbench is just a visualization tool for users to show and edit database on premiss. If you want to connect to MySQL database to get data in power bi desktop, you should install the connector which is matched with your power bi desktop version(32bit or 64 bit)first :

I had already entered on this link to download the sollution
https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/net/
But downloded the wrong file. I've clicked on Recommended Download, and installed the complete Workbench, that didn't work.
Now I've just gone to Other Downloads and installed only the Connector/NET 8.0.19.
It works now

@v-yingjl I know this post is old so I hope you can still help me.
Your suggestion is to download the MySQL connector that matches your Power BI architecture. Mine is 64 bit. But the link only shows 32 bit connectors. Where might I find a 64 bit MySQL Connector?
(Edited:) I take that back. My MySQL Installer shows that I have the X64 architecture installed for both MySQL Workbench and the Connector/ODBC. I have confirmed that my Power BI is 64 bit. But I am still getting an error stating: "This connector requires one or more additional components to be installed before it can be used."
WHAT components is it looking for? I'm lost.
Thanks in advance.
