Hi P BI SME's,
I have mysql server running locally on my laptop at port 3306 and am able to connect to it easily and generate the necessary reports etc. Actually i am taking a MySQL dump from the test server and locally connecting. However, in order to make my reports more real time based, when i try to connect to the power desktop with the data source option as a mysql and point to the test server within the same domain in my organization, power bi isnt able to connect to mysql and says connection refused. So wanted to know if there is any setting in mysql which will allow to receive connection requests from other sources such as my laptop within power bi desktop? Am i missing something?
Thanks,
Gaurav.
@Anonymous ,
1. Make sure your ip address is whitelisted
2. User has access to schema
3. Credentials are correct
4. Make sure latest .net driver is installed https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/net/
Go to Home Tab -> Transform Data -> Data Source credential -> Clear permissions and try again
