Month name from date field in a specific language

Hi,

I am trying to add a new column which will have month name in Norwegian language.

I tried using Format([Date field],"MMM"). But this gives me English language.

Any help on getting the required output would be highly appreciated.

TIA.

Thanks. I did it other way round. I added new column from Examples in the Query editor instead of DAX

Not sure how to do that natively in the app, but you could make a custom list of 12 values and extract the one you need.  For example, you could put this syntax (put in your month abbreviations) in a custom using the Month of your Date column.  You can build the rest of the string with yyyy and dd around it, if needed.  Index values of a list start at 0, which is why 1 is subtracted.

= {"ABC", "DEF", ..., "XYZ"}{Date.Month([DateColumn]) - 1}
