Meta-Data - Visualisations
I have been able to export meta-data of my PowerBI file for Tables/Columns, Measures and Relationships.
The only thing missing from meta-data is visualisations data. For example, a simple chart on page 1 should have the following metadata:
Page = 1
Chart = Bar
Axis = Column_Month, Column_Year
Legend = Customer_ID
Value = Measure_Value_USD
Is there anyway I can generate a list of visuals and the measures / columns that are used in that visual?
Regards,
Sid

Hi @Anonymous,
Power BI don't support this feature currently base on my research. You can raise a new idea and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner.

Using DAX Studio and the commands at the bottom of this post, I can generate an excel containing all the table columns, all the measures, and all the relationships of a PowerBI File.
I want to be able to generate a list of visualisations. I don't need the data of the actual chart. I just need the type of data that "makes" the chart. For example, if my BI file has a line chart, and a matrix, I want the following info:
ChartID = 1, Chartype = Line, ChartAxis = COLUMNNAME, ChartValue = MEASURENAME
ChartID = 2, Chartype = Matrix, ChartColumn = COLUMNNAME, ChartRow = COLUMNNAME2, ChartValye = MEASURENAME
Does that make sense?
SELECT *
FROM $system.discover_storage_table_columns
WHERE dictionary_size > 0
SELECT *
FROM $SYSTEM.MDSCHEMA_MEASURES
select *
FROM $System.TMSCHEMA_RELATIONSHIPS
