Memory problem when table visual loads

Hi!

I get the error that a visual does not have sufficient memory to load when trying to create a Table visual. The data has 20K rows, 13 columns. It loads if I install a filter that divides the data. But, I need to see all the data. I suspect it is a particular calculated column that is causing the problem. Can someone let me know if there is a better way to do this formula to help with the memory issues? Thanks!

Compliance State = IF(‘Table1’[Days Past Due]>= 90, "Flag 1", IF(‘Table1’[Days Past Due]< 90 && ‘Table1’[Days Past Due]>= 60, "Flag2”, IF(‘Table1’[Days Past Due]<60 && ‘Table1’[Days Past Due]>= 30, "Flag 3", IF(‘Table1’[Days Past Due]< 30 && ‘Table1’[Days Past Due]> 0, "Flag 4", IF(‘Table1’[Days Until Due]<= 0 && ‘Table1’[Days Until Due]> -7, "Flag 5", IF(‘Table1’[Days Until Due]< -7, "Flag 6", " "))))))

You can rewrite this with a SWITCH statement and reverse the order, but the performance will be the same as SWITCH is only syntax sugar for nested IFs

Compliance State =
SWITCH(TRUE(),‘Table1’[Days Until Due]< -7, "Flag 6",
              ‘Table1’[Days Until Due]<= 0, "Flag 5",
              ‘Table1’[Days Past Due]< 30, "Flag 4",
              ‘Table1’[Days Past Due]< 60, "Flag 3",
              ‘Table1’[Days Past Due]< 90, "Flag2”,
"Flag 1")

Thanks for your response. Anyone else know a solution to help with the perfermance?

Run Performance Monitor, grab the query for the visual and then examine that query in DAX Studio. Look for excessive numbers of records. Then refactor your measures as needed.
