Hi all,
I'm looking for resources containing information about memory utilization when loading a dataset. Am I right to say if my dataset (e.g. Excel file) is small then Power BI Desktop consumes small utilization of my computer's resource?

Yes, different size of data model loaded into Power BI desktop will consume different memory. Also, manay factors might affect the memory utilization of imported data model, please refer to below links to get more suggestion about how to check the memory usage of your Power BI Desktop data model and how to reduce memory utilization:
